First round presidential candidates Maria do Ceu Lopes and Angelita Pires, together with their respective organizations, as well as Timor-Leste Labour Party President, Angela Freitas, and Democratic Party (PD) Vice President Lurdes Bessa, have thrown their support behind Francisco Guterres Lu-Olo for president in the upcoming April 16 run-off elections.
Ceu Lopes also brought with her the support of women's Non Government Organizations, having run as a candidate with the support of the women's network civil society groups.
Below are photos of the various women from Timor-Leste politics who publicly declared their support for Lu-Olo and urged their respective constituencies to Vote for Lu-Olo at the upcoming presidential elections.
President Lu-Olo expressed his gratitude for their support and pledged not to let them down on these issues of importance for gender balance.
